DIGITALIZING SAVES HANDS, BUT CREATES
OTHER HANDS FOR WORK ELSEWHERE.
ALONG THE WAY THAT MAKES PRODUCTION
BECOME MORE EFFICIENT AND SAFE.
JESPER HØJ-HANSEN, CEO, NORSEA
it automatically tells that– based on past experience– it
may soon need a replacement or an overhaul.
“What now if you use this knowledge for timely consid-
eration? The algoritm may for instance activate produc-
tion of a new valve onshore, or it may warn the planners
in the production department that preventive mainte-
nance is due. It may even book hotel accommodation to
the specialist technicians needed for replacing the valve,
and it may book space on the supply vessel needed to
ship the new valve out to the installation. You may opti-
mise the system to care for all details, and this is NorSea’s
idea of the supply chain of tomorrow. That we via lateral
cooperation in the industry via digitalizing achieve the
perfect coherence of operation,” states Jesper Høj.
IMPROVING EVERYBODY
To Jesper Høj-Hansen digitalizing primarily is a question
of exploiting data already available far better and more
efficiently.
“Very many sensors and registrations of data are not
used for optimizing production. When such information
is available, why not take advantage of it to share the
knowledge with more persons? That will make us all
much more efficient. If we know that one of our clients
have ordered production of a valve at a supplier’s, then it
will make our work much more efficient if we know, that
Jesper Høj-Hansen, CEO of NorSea Group Denmark in 14 days we shall arrange space for this valve on board
a supply vessel,” states Jesper Høj-Hansen.
